Want a super cool email signature like mine, complete with social media buttons? It takes a bit of time, but it’s worth it when potential clients, partners, or friends can easily reach out to you on social networks.
Instructions for Inserting Social Media Buttons Into Your Email Signature
- Visit IconArchive.com (or another free social media icon site), select Categories on the drop-down menu, then click Social Network Icons
- Select the buttons that you would like to use; click them (For example: So Smooth Social Icons)
- Scroll to the bottom and choose the social network you want to add. Click the icon
- Scroll to the bottom and click the hyperlink that says “PNG 32 pixel”
- Copy the URL of this page
- Open your settings in your Gmail account
- In the signature box, click the Insert Image button (the small icon with the image on it)
- Paste the URL of the social media button where it says Image URL
- Click OK
- Highlight the newly inserted icon and click the Link button
- Insert the URL for your social media profile (For example: twitter.com/cmroman)
- Repeat for all other icons you want to include
- Click Save Changes

Great post Cristina! Such a good idea – one quick question – some of the icons come out huge when I try to put them in my signature, and even after I’ve selected the “small” option they still look big. Do you know how to remedy that? Thanks! -Eden

There’s an option on IconArchive to choose a smaller icon, which might help. Look for the section that says “Download Other Sizes of This Icon” and then click the size you want (I usually use the 32 pixel option).
For example, you would want this one, not this one.

how do i get it to not show the link next to the icon?

Thanks for the comment and sorry that you’re having trouble. Be sure that you’re following step 10 (Highlight the newly inserted icon and click the Link button). If you don’t highlight the icon, then your link will be visible.
